Bree woke up sweating and confused. She could never quite remember what it was that made her heart pound so wildly.

They weren't nightmares. She had those sometimes and always woke up with her heart racing with fear, but this wasn't really the same. She panted almost like she had been running, but that didn't seem right, either.

Flopping back on the bed, Bree looked toward her bedroom window where there wasn't even a hint of dawn.

When she ran her fingers through the dark, messy curls splayed across her pillow, the movement made her t-shirt move and almost gasped at the sensation of the fabric moving across her suddenly sensitive nipples.

Now more curious, she brushed her experimental fingers over her chest and was shocked at how good it felt.

Feeling vaguely unsettled by so many unfamiliar feelings, Bree grabbed her pillow and moved it to her side, so she could lean over and throw her arm across the soft fabric. She leaned over and pressed her cheek against the pillow. Imagining it was someone she could cuddle with, Bree threw her arm across the pillow and molded her body around it.

It took a while before she could drift back to sleep again.
